This temple of Kalkaji located in the capital Delhi was built in the 18th century. Although the temple's expansion is only for the last 50 years, the oldest part of the temple is of the eighteenth century. This temple is located in Kalka ji in southern Delhi. It is also called Manokamna Sidhpith and Jayanti Kali Peeth. It is believed that on the advice of Brahma ji, the gods worshiped Shiva (Shakti) when persecuted by the Asura. On the delight of the Goddess, the Gods prayed to give them relief from the Ashur.
It is mentioned in the scriptures that Lord Krishna came here with the Pandavas during the Mahabharata period. They worshiped Mother Kali and got the guts to be victorious.
